{Mollie} Country and Band Senior Photo Session | Elk River Senior Photographer | From Moments to Memories Photography & Design

We had so much fun at Mollie's session!  Mollie's mom, Janet, contacted me earlier in the year to schedule Mollie's session. I also took Mollie's sister, Sydney's senior photos a couple of years ago. I love it when I have siblings from previous clients. I had many this year!

Mollie is a senior at Elk River High School. She is heavily involved in the band program and participates in jazz band, pep band, the River Valley Drumline and the 728 Cades Marching band. She also plays the piano!  Whew!  Busy lady!  Mollie describes herself as driven, compassionate and fun-loving!  I would have to agree!

We had 4 locations for Mollie's shoot.  She was looking for a natural session, not too city. We started out at a church for piano pictures. The lighting was a little difficult, but we worked through it and they turned out amazing!

She chose Handke Pit because she really liked the stone structures and stairs. I love the versatility of the location as a photographer. We did some very casual photos, and grabbed some with her letter jacket.

We also stopped at some railroad tracks in St. Michael. I have since stopped shooting on railroad tracks.  The tracks themselves are abandoned, however, BNSF frowns upon photographers using the tracks and it is private property. Bummer :(  After taking these photos, though, I can see why it's so popular with seniors!

She also chose an abandoned farm in Albertville because it looked very natural, and again, the buildings and structures made for a great background! She brought her saxophone along and we took those pictures there.

Mollie normally doesn't wear many accessories so she chose to keep it simple with a wrap bracelet and necklace. She had some amazing style choices for each of her locations!

Mollie's advice for other seniors preparing for their senior shoot? "It never hurts to bring a bottle of water or extra styling products for touch ups along the way."  Smart words!  I always recommend water, a towel, styling products, etc. Especially on hot summer days!

Mollie's biggest fear about the photo session was wanting a good picture for the yearbook. In the end, she was happy with her entire gallery and had a hard time choosing one for the yearbook. That is when I know I've done my job well!

"My session was amazing. Sheila did a great job of making me feel comfortable while keeping the mood light and fun!"

Mollie plans to attend SDSU or USD and major in Medical Biology. Her goals: the pre-med track! WOW! Ambition!

Mollie's session was one of my favorites of last summer!

Good luck in all you do, Mollie!
