Shayne's senior photo session was one of my favorites to date. It was the end of summer, with school just about to start.
Shayne is a senior at Elk River High School. She is a star soccer player, and describes herself as funny, outgoing and independent. After meeting her, I would have to agree. She brought her sister, best friend and her mom to her session. It was a super fun night!
Shayne chose Anoka for her location because she liked the diversity it has (I do too!). Anoka is one of my favorite places for senior sessions because it has so many different "locations within a location". A park with a beautiful river/dam, an urban setting and there is also a great feed mill down the road for some awesome country shots. All of this is within walking distance!
Shayne and my daughter Baylee knew each other from school, and Baylee did some behind the scenes video and pictures for my Snapchat and Instagram stories. I started this last year and it seems to be a hit! Here are a few behind the scenes pictures from my iPhone
We started out in the park area along the Mississippi River for some beautiful river pictures. The outfits Shayne chose fit perfectly with each section of Anoka. I loved that she brought a wide-brim hat that was versatile enough to wear at two different areas. She wore simple bracelets and rings to accessorize, nothing too crazy!
Shayne did her own makeup, which looked fabulous! She suggests watching You Tube videos for help! We also offer makeup application as a new item this year!
We then headed through historic downtown Anoka for some more great pictures, this time a more urban setting. Shayne brought cleats and a ball to capture her love of soccer. She has committed to playing soccer at the University of Illinois-Chicago in the fall! WOWZA!
We grabbed some country pictures at the feed mill, which is right down the block. We also did BFF and sister photos at this location. I asked Shayne what her biggest fear or worry about was before the session. Her answer, "I thought it would be really awkward posing. Baylee did a great job with placing me, and helped a ton!" I am very fortunate when my daughter is able to tag team sessions with me!
Our final stop was the river again for sunset photos, and it did not disappoint. Golden Hour for the win yet again!
Shayne's advice for other seniors getting their picture taken? "Stay optimistic and have a good attitude toward everything and it will go well." Words of wisdom, I'd say, for all aspects of life!
After high school Shayne plans to attend the University of Illinois-Chicago, where she plans to study kinesiology and become a Physical Therapist. #goals!
Good luck in all you do, Shayne! Thank you for trusting us with your senior pictures!
