Minnesota Nature Photographer

"There are some who can live without wild things...

and some who cannot." - Aldo Leopold

Since I was little, I have loved pictures. My mom would bring out the box of old photos of relatives long gone and I would be so excited to look through them. Although I didn't know half of the people, I loved hearing about the history and seeing the old cars, homes, people.  When junior high school reared its ugly head (and I do mean ugly), I was always the one taking the pictures.  When my daughter was born, I had a roll of film to develop every month of her baby antics.  I got my first SLR in 2001 and have never looked back.  In 2010/2011 I did a Project 365 that really started my passion. I learned a few things about my camera, nature and even my life. I also learned I can take an okay picture if the planets and stars area aligned.  I guess you could say that is when my love of nature photography was born.  I love stopping on the side of the road for a great barn and/or still life photo, and enjoy hanging out at the local wildlife refuge with my daughter. Most of my images are taken in and around Minnesota.

Media

Paper Media:  Images are printed on Kodak Professional Endura Premier Lustre paper. This is closely related to Matte finish with a slight sheen. Industry Standard for Professional printing. Archival life of 100+ years.

Single Weight Matboard (Recommended for 8 x 10 size and above):  Cardboard material bonds together to create a 14-ply board perfect for mounting prints. This is extremely lightweight and has a 1/16" thickness. I recommend this for prints size 8 x 10 and up, as it gives it a heavier thickness for hanging. I also recommend framing matboard.

Canvas Wrap:  Stretched ready to hang canvas prints on 408gram 18mil canvas. This is a beautiful canvas with just the right amount of sheen once clear-coated with satin varnish to show the image perfectly! 100% archival inks are used and with 12 color process for perfect colors especially on black and white prints. These are made locally and come with wire or sawtooth hanging hardware. For an extra $10 you can get a backing put on.

Metal Print Standoff:  The outstanding metal printing process ensures your image will have sharp, crisp contours, intense color vibrancy, and seamless gradations. Stainless steel Standoff post is ⅝"  in diameter. Metal Prints are 1 mm thick and are finished with a protective white gloss.  All Metal Prints Standoff orders are shipped with the following hardware: 4 posts per metal print, 1 paper hanging template per metal print, drywall anchors and screws.

Wood Wrap:  Images are printed directly onto a dimensional, maple wood construction to create a natural, innovative, and stunningly beautiful work of art. This is a full wrap of the image around both the front face and each of the 1.5" edges.  Wood Print Wraps include sawtooth notches on each edge for easy and convenient hanging. Each Wood Print Wrap is finished with a protective laminate.
