Here are a few frequently asked questions that come up often. If you have ANY more questions, please feel free to shoot me a message or give me a call!
How long will my session last?
Your session time will be based upon the purchased package. I would suggest up to 2 hours or more depending on if you would like more outfit changes or locations. The more outfit changes and locations you have the more variety and looks you can have for your images. Session times include travel time.
What locations are used throughout the photo session?
Selecting locations is one of my favorite things to do for a senior photo session. Once you book, I will send you a Senior Questionnaire to find out more about you to determine where we will have the shoot. Keep in mind, many places require a portrait photography permit that is an extra charge, depending on the location. ALL Minneapolis Parks require a photography permit, including Mill Ruins Park (Stone Arch Bridge), Boom Island, Nicollet Island, Lake Harriet, Minnehaha Falls, etc. Other notable locations requiring a permit? Como Conservatory and Munsinger Gardens. Also, these locations in Minneapolis and St. Paul are reserved for Emerald and Diamond packages. There is also a mileage fee of .55 per mile over 20 miles from Elk River.
What if the weather is bad on the date of my session?
If the session needs to be rescheduled due to inclement weather, we will try for the next available session date. Unfortunately, I am at the mercy of the weather. Please do not be upset with me if I have to reschedule due to weather. If there are stormy skies, high winds or any type of severe weather or air quality issue I will reschedule. I will send you a notification within 12-24 hours of the session date if I see a reason to reschedule. Please note I do automatically reschedule sessions if there is more than a 60% chance of rain.
Do you offer professional retouching?
I do offer professional retouching, and basics are included in each package. Blemish and red-eye removal, along with skin tone adjustments, some hair strands out of place, etc. are a given. NOTE: Bra straps, sock (or any other clothing) color changes, panty lines, cell phone outline, tan lines, sunburn, things of that nature, are extra charge to retouch. That is why we ask to plan accordingly.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes. All of my clients sign a contract. Once you book your session and pay your (non-refundable) retainer fee, you are all set!
DO I GET THE ORIGINAL IMAGES?
Short answer. No. Under no circumstances will the RAW/original photos be released. I select the best representation of the images taken at your session to provide your gallery. All other images are deleted during the culling process, due to closed eyes, lightening issues, mouths open, people in the way, etc. No additional images can or will be released to clients.
DO YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR STYLE?
Yes. There is a big variance between photographers in style. My creative vision is not just the composition of the shot, but how I process the image. Make sure you check out my portfolio to check out my style. This will ensure a good fit. I do not change my style for you or what you are looking for. You picked me because you liked my gallery. Trust me.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY GALLERY?
The process usually takes approximately 3-6 weeks, depending on the season. Please see your contract for more detail regarding editing time. It is my job to know when all yearbook photos are due. I have been doing this for many years and have never missed a yearbook deadline. Again, trust me!
